Four top Interact Leaders from Arizona, including Loralli Johnson, an Interactor from Perry High School, will be travelling to Kenya this month as part of the Crutches for Africa Project.  The Project seeks to gather enough crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs to fill a 40-foot shipping container to assist Africans who suffer from the lingering effects of Polio.  District 5490 has partnered with the Interact Club of Trinity Mission School in Gilgil, Kenya, for the past three years.  This year these outstanding Interactors will personally deliver the shipping crate full of supplies for distribution to those in the Rift Valley of Kenya who need them most.  Loralli, who is President of the Interact Club at Perry High School, spoke to the Gilbert Rotary Club on June 8th.  She described her involvement in Interact, which includes leading roles at the District and State-wide levels.  Her enthusiasm is amazing.  The future is bright for Interact at Perry High School.  Congratulations for being selected and safe travels Loralli.  Keep up the good work!

Rotarians and others who wish to financially support the travel costs of our Arizona Interactors may send checks payable to District 5490, marked “Crutches for Africa Project.”
