Saturday April 29, 2017 was a morning filled with fun, music, and dogs at Freestone Park in Gilbert for the Fulton Homes Superhero 5K. Participants were encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero and dress they did with their dogs following suit. There were superhero capes everywhere for this fun and unique event. Participants were encouraged to bring their dogs and the first 100 registrants received a doggie goodie bag. The 5 K was a joint effort between Fulton Homes, the Gilbert High School Interact Club and AZ ALT 93.3 radio. The proceeds from the run went to support the Wounded Warrior Project, whose mission it s to provide direct aid and services to meet the needs of injured military service members. There were also vendors and a shelter was present for on-site adoptions. Gilbert Rotary was pleased to help this effort. Special thanks go to Gilbert Rotarian Brandon Holt for his extra time and effort to advise the Interact club under the sponsorship of instructor Kate Fisher .
