Welcome to the Rotary Club of Gilbert

July 2, 2023

Day one of my new role is in the books!  I had the pleasure of attending the installation banquet of our newly elected District Governor, Kevin Pitts, with over 160 fellow rotarians from the amazing District 5495. The Rotary Club of Gilbert had a great turn out with 25% of our club in attendance.  Thanks to all who represented!

This year, my main objective is to embrace our Rotary International theme CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD.  This theme starts with us… in our homes, in our work, in our communities, in our state, and ultimately our planet.  Each day, with a Rotarian heart, we can make a difference.  What may seem small to us, may make a huge difference to someone else.  As Rotary International 23/24 President, Gordon McInally stated, a simple “How Are You?” followed by “How Are You, Really?” can create hope in the world.

Each week, I would like to share an inspirational poem, quote, or thought at the end of our meetings, providing mindfulness as we go forward with our day.  These will tie back to the Rotary International initiatives of mental health awareness, diversity, equity, and inclusion with peace building and virtual exchanges, and empowering girls.

For those members who have been long standing Rotarians, I thank you for your confidence in me.  I look forward to serving you, and receiving your continuous mentorship and feedback.

For those members who are new to Rotary, I welcome you and look forward to hearing your enthusiastic ideas of what matters to you, and how our club can make your vision come true.

For those of you who are not members, I ask you, why not?  We are people of action.  Take action with us.

Here’s to a great year.

Humbly,

Cori
